With the New Year comes a reminder that many companies update their contractual terms / privacy statements / etc. around this time – so keep track of what is happening. [A while ago I built a monitoring tool for one client to automatically keep them informed of updates (even small ones) to various legal documents of Amazon Web Services (T&Cs, privacy notice and a range of other documents), with a “track changes” type of highlighting of modifications – and I got my automatic e-mail this morning showing what has changed on 1 January.]
Sometimes the changes can be significant, sometimes they are more benign – but always you should try to stay up to date with the terms of your suppliers, for the sake of supplier risk management.
If you don’t yet have a practical solution for your suppliers, maybe make it a New Year’s resolution to find or build one. And we are always happy to help clients with that!
